New Work

19 May

Here is something we worked on recently for Do Or Die – a new MMA clothing company. The studio seemed smaller than usual with these eight gigantic MMA fighters hanging out, eating extra-large pizzas. The evening’s shoot yielded some really outstanding results, and the athletes, like Rich Power in the shot below, worked really hard to help capture them. I’m just glad there was a camera between us.

I’ve also been working planning a lot of my own shoots—interesting concepts that challenge and inspire. Here are two we did recently – the first focused on a range of emotions, and the second was a chance to polish my underwater skills.

Otherwise, we just wrapped up a fun shoot with Marlboro at an incredible swimming pool location in Malibu. This month also brought trips to photograph a surfing pug on Waikiki Beach—yes, really—and Navy chaplains here in San Diego. Coming up (as in tomorrow at 5:30 am), we’ve got a large scale “rock concert fan” shoot planned at a warehouse in LA, and a few more cool projects in the works.

Wrangler Print Ads Selected in Luerzer’s Archive

15 Mar

So the grape vine tells me that our print work we did with two x four in Chicago with the infamous Ryan Bloecker made it into the fashion section of the current issue of Luerzer’s Archive. Super happy to have the opportunity to make some interesting print pieces with Ryan. This is our second selection in the publication with Ryan. When he’s not bowling, he has some serious creative skills. Thanks Ryan for making me look good! Check out the ad’s

Nascar Craftsman Print

03 Apr

I can finally share some of these from our trip to Charlotte, North Carolina to shoot in the Waltrip Racing garage for Craftsman. We shot a couple of real mechanics doing their thing preparing cars for Daytona. No pressure, the cars were on the prep pads for Daytona a week out, better not drop a light on a car…The next campaign is for Craftsman is currently in SI on the news stand.

Digital Photo Pro Magazine AND Photo Techniques Magazine

20 Nov

Our studio is being featured in Digital Photo Pro magazine and Photo Techniques this month. I am a big fan of DPP and think they always have some very good articles that have helped me with my career. I feel stoked to have a chance to be in there with some amazing photographers. I’m lucky, but the harder I work the luckier I seem to get. Here is a link to the article; Click Here

Anyway, if your in the airport or by a news stand pick up a copy, I was very pleased with the interview and thought the writer had some great questions.

Currently we are about to start the Craftsman shoot so our total focus is in that direction. Go PHELPS! Pretty nice to see a BALTIMORE boy be the best ever!

out for now….
